The D-IONIZR2 has a 3-stage filtering system. The first filter is a composite carbon filter, designed to reduce the hardness of your water. This offers a significant advantage to the D-IONIZR filter, as the water that passes through it is much cleaner, extending the life of your cartridges. With this setting, we have seen a 20% increase in DI cartridge life.
The second and third filtration stages use deionization resin, which filters the water to a level of 0 PPM (parts per million). The system has a built-in digital TDS meter, which shows the incoming and outgoing water levels, providing the user with all the necessary information. The new bypass valve allows the user to choose whether to use the filtration system during the entire wash cycle or only during the final rinse to extend the life of the cartridges. You can also choose to use the system throughout the wash cycle for better foam generation and superior deionised water washing. The choice is yours, with a simple turn of the valve.
EFFICIENCY:
One deionization cartridge can comfortably filter up to 1200 liters of water, depending on the hardness of your water (ideally 100 TDS or less). If you use the system with the carbon filter, you will get an additional 20% efficiency, filtering approximately 1440 litres of water.
What does this mean for you? If you only use the system for rinsing, it can handle between 160 and 192 washes before needing to be replaced. Remember that the quality of your water (its hardness) affects the number of washes you can perform with each cartridge, so results may vary.
